A note from Dr. Lev to all face lift patients
To my dear patients, I will be discontinuing performing facelifts for the foreseeable future. I will continue doing tummy tucks, breast surgeries, eyelids, brow lifts, minor surgeries, fillers and Botox, but nothing on the lower face. I’ve been having issues with my back and facelifts put a great deal of strain on my back. I humbly apologize for this news. I wish you all good health and happiness always. A big hug, Dr. Lev (dr.alejandrolev@gmail.com) AND A NOTE TO THE PATIENTS FROM DIDI I just want to say, as Dr. Lev’s now retired international patient coordinator, it has been my pleasure and privilege to not only work alongside the wonderful Dr. Lev, but to work with all of our international patients for the last 26 years, helping and guiding you through this quite scary, yet incredibly exciting journey. General Information About Having Plastic Surgery in Costa Rica.

This is me 19 days after my second facelift. I was 58 at the time. I had heavy bruising that finally started fading after 7 days post op and on Day 21, it was totally gone. The bruising went away faster with my first facelift at age 48.
Understanding Different Facelift Techniques
I've been asked about the differences between the different facelift techniques so many times, it's long overdue for me to write this article.
I'm going to do my best to clarify the three "main" (most popular) facelift techniques. And I will tell you which technique Dr. Lev uses and why (in layman's terms that most of us human non-doctors can understand).
When I asked Dr. Lev to explain about the three different "main" facelift techniques, he started to explain it to me in medical terms with a lot of big words that I didn't understand. I asked him to PLEASE explain it to me as if I'm the absolute dumbest human on the planet and I took notes even though he couldn't help but throw in a few medical terms (What could I do? He's a doctor!!!)
Ok so here goes..
The 3 main techniques are...
-
The "mini" lift or "facelift light"
The least invasive, not very long lasting, shortest time in the OR, in many cases performed-under- local-sedation facelift technique.
It's actually an "outdated"technique and involves just the separation of the skin from the subcutaneous tissues and then the pulling of the skin. The patient is told they can return to work after a week.
