For Patients Who Are Airline Employees
If you work for the airlines and normally travel on a "non-rev" basis, we won't book a surgery date for you if you are planning on traveling to Costa Rica for your surgery as a non-rev passenger. Why? Because what if you don't get on? You're not the only one who loses. Dr. Lev, the anesthesiologist, the private nurse we hired, the hospital, the recovery facility, the dentists, anyone you had appointments with will lose out.
You need to bite the bullet and pay for a seat on the aircraft if you're coming for surgery. It's not fair to everyone who is waiting for your arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica to not guarantee that you will keep your appointments with them. And if you fly "non-rev" you simply cannot guarantee that you will be there when you say you'll be there, right?
