Day 7
Well, last night I felt good enough to go in the van with Ron to pick Steven up at the airport. I was so nervous for him to see me, I can't even tell you. I looked awful.bruised and battered and swollen (oh my!).
I wore my white pajamas to the airport (nothing but the best for my Honey!) and stayed out of sight on the other side of the street from the terminal exit. I didn't want people to freak out when they saw me..or think that Ron beat me up or something.
After waiting about ten minutes, Steven appeared from the terminal with his little carry-on bag (how do guys do that?) and within seconds of scanning the area, he found me, peeking out from behind a wall in my white pajamas.
I thought he'd keep his distance from "The Freak" but instead he grabbed me up and gave me the biggest, warmest hug and kiss ever. That certainly was the welcome I wanted (but didn't think I'd get, quite frankly!).
After coming out of the embrace, he held me at arm's length holding on to my shoulders and took a moment to look me over.
"Hmmm..not bad, Honey. I can see, already, what a beautiful job Alejandro did on your face.not that you needed to have anything done, mind you, but look at your neck.all the slack is gone with the wind! You must be so happy..are you?"
That's my guy! If they gave out prizes to the husband with the most "right answers" my Steven would win top prize hands down!
So I, with a big happy, relieved smile on my face, jumped into the van and the three of us headed back to the Villa Plenitud.
Steven totally understood why he was given his own room. So without a single complaint (how do guys do that?) he unpacked his things and then came across the walk to my room to have a look around "my place".
Of course he did end up sleeping in the bed with me that night and every night after that because as it turned out, it was fine for me. He doesn't take up much space and I was able to rest and move around to my heart's content and, once again, he didn't utter one complaint about anything. As a matter of fact, he loved staying at the Villa Plenitud. It's very peaceful and quiet there and the grounds and natural landscape are gorgeous and serene, just the way Steven likes it.
So the next morning when Maria called my room to let me know my breakfast was ready, Steven was already up and out of the room and lying on a chaise lounge chair in the rancho overlooking the gorgeous canyon, reading a book (one of about 10 that he brought with him).
I woke up hoping my bruising had taken a turn for the better, but alas, no such luck. It still looked a sight.and a fright...a frightful sight, indeed! But fortunately, I "know the drill" and so I know in the end I will be thrilled with the way I look and all these bruises and swelling will go away and I'll be normal looking once again.except a bit younger/normal looking,
I had a smoothie and a scrambled egg for breakfast and Steven had eggs over easy, crispy bacon and potatoes with wheat toast and fresh fruit on the side (how do guys do that??). Don't forget the fresh brewed deeeelicious Costa Rican coffee. We both had a nice cuppa that.yum!
We hung around resting, reading, I napped a little here and there, checked my email a little and then before we knew it..lunch was served. I've included a couple of pictures of lunch served to us by Maria.
Deeeeeelicious! One could definitely become quite spoiled around here. No two ways about it!

This was taken first thing in the morning before my shower.

I really got some of the worst bruising I've personaly ever seen....all the way down my neck and chest, too. Much worse than my first surgery done ten years ago!

That's me in the multi purpose room just finished checking emails.

This is a lovely view of the underside of my neck...ugh!.

Yes, the stitches are still relatively new and quite icky.

"LUNCHTIME!....Maria's delectable beef stew, all fresh and homemade...yum!!

And that's Maria serving it to Steven who is still full from breakfast!
