The following is a list of minor complications and risks involved when receiving surgery.

• Minor complications like hematomas, prolonged inflammation and bruising happen in about 5% of the surgeries.
• Major complications like bleeding that require transfusion, infections, nerve damage, skin necrosis (dead skin) and permanent hair loss happens in about 1% of the patients.
• Losing vision of one eye after eyelid surgery happens in 1 out of every 20,000 surgeries.
• With a coronal brow/forehead lift, the hairline raises an average of one centimeter.
• In breast surgery, hardness in the breasts over a period of 10 years is about 19% and 5 % of the patients will lose feeling in the nipples.
• Pulmonary embolisms happen in 1 out of every 5000 patients. If you know that you have this condition in your family history, please be sure to let Dr. Lev know about it prior to having surgery.
• Liposuction has a 10% to 15 % chance of developing permanent bumps.
• Scarring is a biological process unique to every patient. Keloid scarring happens in about 1% of the patients.

Please note: I can promise you nice stitching, but I cannot promise a nice scar. Scarring differs from patient to patient. Mortality in Plastic surgery is 1 in 50,000 surgeries.

Finally, I would like to tell you that plastic surgery in the vast majority of patients improves their appearance and self-esteem, but if you are expecting perfection, you have unrealistic expectations. In order to receive surgery, you need to read, agree to and sign the following:
